Theatre of terrestrial astronomy emblems hand coloured by Adam McLean

I have painted hand coloured versions of the sixteen pictures that make up the Theatre of terrestrial astronomy series. I believe this hand colouring makes these images even more accessible, and I have tried to use a consistent colouring scheme to emphasise the various elements of the symbolic sequence. I include below my sixteen coloured woodcuts from the Tractatus duo egregii, de Lapide Philosophorum, una cum Theatro astronomić terrestri, Hamburg, 1676, as small thumbnails. I am in planning to incorporate this Theatre of terrestrial astronomy sequence into a multimedia slide sequence similar to the the Atalanta fugiens multimedia slide show I have recently produced.
