Tarots for sale by Adam McLean 2014 - Australian Tarots

I have decided to sell off a substantial part of my tarot collection over the next few years. Some I will put up on Ebay but most will be available through the series of pages on this site. These can be bought direct from me, paying using Paypal. I will try and put up a batch of twenty five or so each month. The most recently added being placed at the beginning of the file. As a long term and well known collector, you can trust me to supply good quality decks at a fair price.
If you require your item to be sent with International Tracking this will cost an extra $12 or €9. Please email me at Adam@alchemywebsite.com and I will send you a Paypal invoice for this amount.

I have sold off the bulk of my Australian tarots. These are the few remaining items.

Bohemian Tarot (Majors)
by Geoff Day.
Australia, Self-Published, 1990.
27 cards 200x140mm.
This was the first version of the Book of Kaos deck. The artist Geoff Day later took on the persona of a prolific visual, sonic and textual artist-magickian organising performances in many countries of magical rituals under the name Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule. This first deck included five extra cards - Blood and The Grove, with a suit of three Drug cards, Drunk, Stoned and The Trip. His imagery is always witty and informed.
Supplied in a card wallet with an explanatory leaflet. Apparently the Minors were also issued in this format in 1990. This very small hand made edition is now almost unknown and impossible to find. The copy I bought some years ago is the only copy I have ever seen for sale.

The first version of this deck was created in 1990, and published as the Bohemian Tarot Majors and Minors. Most of the Minors remained unchanged but about half of the Majors were redrawn for this edition. Minors follow the emblematic sequence of the Rider-Waite prototype.

Elliot's Tarot
by Lindsay Waterworth.
Australia, Self-Published, 2006.
78 cards 110x65mm.
Lindsay Waterworth is a pagan wiccan and seems also to have some interest in the goth lifestyle, and we catch glimpses of these influences in details of the imagery. However, this deck arose out of a personal tragedy for Lindsay Waterworth. The 'Elliot' of the title was her son, who was born prematurely with a life-threatening medical condition and sadly died after eight months. He spent his whole life in hospital undergoing operations and medical procedures. Out of that terrible experience, Lindsay Waterworth has created her tarot as a kind of memorial to her son, but here we find no descent into maudlin sentiment, and instead a kind of celebration of life. There are only a very few subtle references, which one will not pick up unless one knows what Waterworth had gone through. The imagery is poignant yet never sentimental.

Australian Animal Tarot Deck
by Tracy Hinschen.
Switzerland, AG Mueller, 2000.
78 cards 110x70mm.
Each card presents a different animal. The imagery of the Majors does not hold close to the traditional forms. The Minors have little connection to tarot images. Each card is also associated with a mineral, usually a precious or semi-precious stone.
Although published by a major card publisher some fourteen years ago, this is long out of print and fetches ridiculously high prices.
