I am doing a history term paper on Isaac Newton and Alchemy. I am looking for any source material that contains Newton's actual alchemical writings. I am looking for books, manuscripts, etc. I would appreciate any resources that anyone on the forum may know about.

Sincerely,
Will

You might start with Frances Yates, an English author who worked at London University and the Warburg Institute ....

Dear Will:
in The Janus Face of Genius by Betty Jo Dobbs which is a study of the spiritual element in Newton's alchemy there are several of his alchemical writings in the appendix. Michael White has a fairly good biography of Newton which includes consideration of his alchemical thought: Isaac Newton, The last Sorcerer. In addition there is an alchemical text by Newton reproduced in Ambix-5(1956) presented by F. Sherwood Taylor.

If it may help, my study on Newton's interest in Flamel has been published in Chrysopoeia, tome V(1992-1996), Paris-Milano, Ed. Archè, p.733-738 : *Isaac Newton lecteur de Nicolas Flamel*.

Best regards,

Claude Gagnon
