Alchemical symbols
l'Encyclopedie of Diderot and d'Alembert comprised 28 volumes, with 71,818 articles and 3,129 illustrations. The first seventeen volumes were published between 1751 and 1765 and eleven volumes of plates were finished by 1772. In the volume on science there are four large engravings of alchemical symbols. I have here divided it into eight to fit it to the website format.
